Dubai, United Arab Emirates—In recognition of the United Arab Emirates' increasingly prominent role on the global jewelry stage, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has announced the 2008 CIBJO Congress will be held in Dubai from April 14-16, 2008. Expected to attend the high-profile meeting are leading members of the international jewelry trade, as well as government and United Nations representatives, all coming together to promote CIBJO's (The World Jewellery Confederation) mission: to encourage harmony, promote international cooperation in the jewelry industry and to consider issues that concern the trade worldwide, all in an effort to promote consumer confidence in the industry.The DMCC, which has launched commodity-specific trading platforms such as the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange and the Dubai Diamond Exchange, will host the CIBJO Congress as well as a wide variety of related activities over the course of the three-day event."The CIBJO Congress is the leading event of its kind in the world, and we are delighted to hold next year's meeting in Dubai, which is rapidly emerging as an international capital for the jewellery trade," CIBJO President Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri said in a statement.
